David A. Richardson

Age 72, of Port Charlotte, FL, formerly of Canton, passed away Sat., May 17, 2014, at his summer home in Tippecanoe, OH.  He was born in Canton, a son of the late Joe A. Richardson I and Helen (Randal) Richardson Clymer, spent the past 20 years in Florida and returning to this area in the summer.  David was a 1959 graduate of McKinley High School and also a graduate of The Ohio State University.  He was the retired Publisher of the Barberton Herald Newspaper.  David was a member of the El Jobean Yacht Club in Florida.  Preceded in death by his wife, Cathy Robertson.  Survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joe A. and Carol Richardson II, of Harrison, OH, and Joshua Richardson, of Dayton, OH; two stepchildren, Cheryl Vespoint and Timothy McCracken, both of Barberton; three grandchildren, Abigail and Isabelle Richardson, and Jimmy Vespoint.  There will be no calling hours or services locally.  At a later date David's family will have a private time of remembrance in Florida.  The Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
