David Regester, Jr.
Age 80, of Magnolia, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024. He was born May 23, 1943 in Durham, NC, a son of the late Harry and Angela (Bowles) Regester, Sr., and had been a resident of the Magnolia-Waynesburg area since the early 1980's. David was a self-employed independent distributor of Little Debbie Snacks. He was a very faithful member of St. James Catholic Church, and also attended St. Michael's Catholic Church, member of the former St. James Council #14491, Knights of Columbus, and St. Michael's Council #15458, Knights of Columbus, and a member of Msgr. Graham Assembly 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. David honorably served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War, and was a member of Carr-Bailey American Legion Post #519 in Mineral City.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother, Judy Decker and Gregory Regester. David is survived by two daughters, Catherine and Eric Belden, and Stacy and Justin Daves; five grandchildren, Kaitlin, Sarah and Harrison Belden, Elizabeth and Charlotte Daves; two sisters, Mary Ann Abreu and Janet and Mike Waldridge, and a sister-in-law, Denise Regester.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Michael's Catholic Church. Friends may call Tuesday one hour before the Mass at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions in David's memory may be made to the Veterans Service Commission by calling Dana at: (330) 451-7439.
