DAVID C. HENKE, Age 81, of Canton, passed away Wed. morning in Stone Crossing Nursing Home. Born a son of the late Clyde and Ethel Hughes Henke, he had been a life resident of Stark County. He was a 1948 graduate of McKinley High School and had worked at Alliance Wholesalers as an accountant and in outside sales. David was a Past President of the Canton McKinley Alumni Association, and was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, the Hall of Fame Luncheon Club. He was a 1996 inductee in the Stark County Basketball Hall of Fame and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. Preceded in death by his longtime companion, Patricia Hoover, and his brother, Paul. Survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Robert Henke and Evelyn Morgan, of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; one sister and brother-in-law, Rosalie and Vern Dieringer, of Canton; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be conducted Sat. at 12 noon in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Reese officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery.
