IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David L.
Gaspar, Sr.
September 13, 1938 – December 9, 2022
David L. Gaspar, Sr.
David L. Gaspar, Sr. age 84, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Friday, December 9th at Aviva Hills in Canton, Ohio. Born in Canton, OH, September 13, 1938, the first of three children to David and Sara (Whitmer) Gaspar. David and his wife Judith (Miller) were both 1956 graduates of Timken High school. They were married on May 11, 1957. David was an auto body repairman and painter, working in several garages in and around Canton. He worked on painting and restoring cars, trucks, boats, tractors and whatever else anyone brought him to work on. This passion culminated in him opening his own business, Dave's Paint Shop, in Louisville, then enabling him to spend time with his other passions, boating and fishing on Lake Erie. His home and boat are on Catawba Island where he has caught his fair share of walleye and perch. Wherever he is at, we are sure he is holding a fishing pole in one hand and a beer in the other. He will be missed at Beer Belly's Bar, trading stories with all his CI family and friends.
In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his wife Judy in 2016. He is survived by his children, David and Cheryl, and a brother and sister, Gary and Sue. Lovingly called "Gramps or Grumps" by his grandchildren Earl and David and great grandchildren Alec, Alyssa, Shelby, David, Bryce and Presley and great-great grandson Jayben.
Thanks goes out to the caring staff of nurses and aides at Aviva Hills and Traditions Hospice for taking care of David, it is much appreciated. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Lake Erie Foundation to help protect and maintain Dave's favorite place on earth.
Services will be held Friday at 12 Noon in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Smith, Celebrant, officiating. Friends may call Friday 10-12 Noon before the service. Interment will be in Warstler Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
