David C. Farber

Age 71, of Bolivar, passed away Wed. Sept. 13, 2017.  He was born in Canton, a son of the late Charles and Ruth (Howenstine) Farber, grew up in Sandyville and Magnolia, resided in Zoarville 19 years and Bolivar 19 years.  Dave was a 1964 graduate of Sandy Valley High School.  He retired in 1994 from The Timken Co. with 30 years service, where he was a tool crib attendant.  Dave was a member of Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Church, loved old cars, and was an avid bowler for many years.  He served with the U. S. Army Reserves.  He is survived by his wife, Jean M. Farber, with whom he would have celebrated their 38th Wedding Anniversary on Friday, Sept. 15th.  Also his mother-in-law, Estella (Jack) Bellotte, and two brothers-in-law, Paul and Roman Rucker.  Services will be held Sat. at 3 p.m. in Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Church with Pastor Stephen Patrick officiating.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.  Friends may call Friday 5-8 p.m. at the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia and Sat. 2-3 p.m. at the church before the service.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dave's memory may be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave., New Philadelphia, OH  44663.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
