DANIEL A. BARRETT,

Age 66, of Canton, passed away Tues., May 20, 2014, in Mercy Medical Center.  Born in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Jack and Goldie (Dishong) Barrett, he grew up in Cadiz, and lived in Canton since 1967.  Daniel was a 1965 graduate of Cadiz High School, and retired in 2006 from Republic Storage Systems after 38 years service as an electrician. Dan also served in the U.S. Navy Reserves.  He loved to travel with family, play pool, loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, but most of all enjoyed his grandchildren.  Preceded in death by his daughter, Ranae Barrett, on July 31, 1983.  Survived by his wife, the love of his life, Linda Barrett, with whom he celebrated their 48th Wedding Anniversary on Mar. 26th; two daughters and sons-in-law, Valerie and James Alberta, of North Canton, and Kimberly and Thomas Marchand, of Hartville; one son, Brian Barrett and Jessica Caldwell, of Canton; five grandchildren, Rachel Barrett and Matthew Alberta, Priscilla and Mckenzie Marchand, and Claire Barrett; one sister and brother-in-law, Penny and Gene Banks, of Cadiz.  Services will be held Fri. at 6 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home.  Interment in Union Cemetery in Cadiz at a later date.  Friends may call Fri. from 4-6 p.m. in the funeral home.  Condolences may be left at: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
