CLIFFORD E. HUGHES,

Age 72, of Magnolia, passed away Fri., Feb. 5, 2021.  Born June 17, 1948, in Elyria, OH, a son of the late Charles and Addie (Lambert) Hughes.  Cliff was a 1966 graduate of North Ridgeville High School and was the Senior Pastor of the Sandy Valley Church of God for 48 years. He was involved in many activities including: East Sparta Boy Scout Pack 38 Scout Master; Chaplain of Sandy Valley High School; Member of the Sandy Valley Ministerial Association; Sandy Valley Junior High Track Coach; East Sparta Little League Umpire; Served in the Church of God as: Northern Ohio Youth Board Member; Northern Ohio Evangelism Board Member; Ohio State Council Member; Ohio State Ministerial Examining Board; Ohio District Overseer, Sandy Valley District; Leader of the Gabrielliers Trumpet Quartet; Ohio Youth Camp Procurer/Runner; played Santa Claus for a variety of events.  Survived by his wife, Margaret Hughes; one son and daughter-in-law, Brett (Tracy) Hughes; one sister and brother-in-law, Debbie (Rick) Thomas; and five grandchildren, Abbie, Nick, Meghan, Andrew, and Asher.  Services will be held Sat. at 11 a.m. in the Sandy Valley Church of God, with Bishop Ronald Martin, State Overseer, Ohio, officiating. The service will be live streamed on the church's Facebook page. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery.  Friends may call Fri. from 11a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. in the church.  Social distancing and face coverings will be Required.  The Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia is in charge of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Cliff's memory may be made to the family to help defray expenses.  Condolences may be left at: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
