CHARLES W. DALTON, SR.,
Age 90, of Waynesburg, passed away Mon. morning in Aultman Hospital. Born in Simpson, WV, a son of the late Obed and Jessie Croston Dalton, he had been a Waynesburg resident since 1948. Charles was a retired as a self-employed owner of Dalton Construction, was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. Preceded in death by his wife, Anna A. Dalton, on Oct. 12, 2011, two grandsons and a granddaughter, Michael Mason, Thomas Berns and Audrey Richards, his great grandson, Ben Moag, and two sisters and two brothers. Survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Dale Mason, of Malvern, Eleanor Moag and her companion, Brent Starkey, of Waynesburg, and Tammy and Terry Wilson, of Canton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Sue Dalton, Jr., of Carrollton, and Neil and Debbie Dalton, of Canton; one brother, Roger Cosgrove, of Waynesburg; and 20 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren. Services will be held Fri. at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Larry Brown officiating. Interment in Bethlehem Cemetery.
