Obituary

Charles T. Snyder Age 82, of Magnolia, passed away Wed. evening in Aultman Hospital. He was born in Canton, a son of the late George and Edna Long Snyder, and had been a Magnolia resident almost 20 years. Charles was a 1944 graduate of Middlebranch High School. He retired in March of 2002 from Republic Storage, after 42 years service, where he was a press operator. Charles served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of V.F.W. Post #3747. Preceded in death by his wife, Joann F. Snyder, on Dec. 31, 2005, a daughter, Cheryol Hicks, on Feb. 4, 2009, a step-son, Brian Sweitzer, and a brother and sister, George "Buck" Snyder and Irene Canterbury. Survived by two daughters, Penny Snyder, of Canton, and Charlene Snyder, of Spring, TX; one son, HuMichael "Mike" Snyder, of Waco, TX; three step-daughters and husbands, Darlene and David Shumard, of Bolivar, Rita and Eddie Kuhl, of Nebo, WV, and Janet and David McGonagle, of Canton; a step-son, Tom Sweitzer and his wife, Bonnie, of Warren, OH; two sisters, Vera Dillman, of Canton, and Carol Troup, of North Canton; also 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with his step-son-in-law, David Shumard officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
