Carolyn J. Cordray

Age 77, of Malvern, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024.  She was born June 7, 1947 in Canton, a daughter of the late James and Virginia (Copeland) West, and had been a Malvern resident over thirty years.  Carolyn was a 1965 graduate of Lincoln High School and received her Nursing Degree later from Canton City Schools.  Carolyn had been a nurse over thirty years and retired from Great Trail Nursing Home in Minerva, previously working at St. Luke Lutheran Home in North Canton.  She enjoyed going to Mountaineer in West Virginia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Robert L. Cordray on March 8, 2017, and two sons, Robert L. Cordray, on Jan. 19, 2011, and James A. Cordray on Oct. 17, 2022.  Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Dawn (James) Hanlin; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, Aaron Hanlin, James R. Hanlin, and his children, Jayden, Jaxson, and Adalynn, Nicole Hanlin, and her children, Elliot and Bailee, James C. (Megan) Hanlin, and their daughters, Lily, Lydia, and Lainey, Ayden Hanlin, and April Hanlin.

Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Amy Downard, Celebrant, officiating.  Friends may call Monday one hour before the service from 10-11 a.m.  Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
