Obituary

Carol R. Rennie

Age 72, of Morges, passed away Friday Sept. 14, 2018.  She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late Chester and Rachel (Shoemaker) Slayman, and resided in the Waynesburg-Louisville area most of her life.  Carol was a 1964 graduate of North Canton Hoover High School.  She had worked at The Hoover Company and at several area restaurants.  She and her husband were Foster Parents for over 30 children through the years.  But especially for Carol, most importantly she was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Allen.  She is survived by her husband, Russell R. Rennie, with whom she would have celebrated their 49th Wedding Anniversary on Dec. 4th; one daughter and two sons, Chris (Don) Shearer, Richard (Roshelle) Rennie, and Kenneth Rennie and his fiancée Julie Wilcox; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, Alan Rennie and his children, Alayna and Aaron, Alex Rennie, Donnie Shearer, Jr., Carolynn Delong and her son, Archer Emond, Ashley (Steven) Reed, Rybecca Rennie, and Austynn Rennie.  Services will be held Fri. at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Peggy Garner officiating.  Interment will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.  Friends may call Thur. 6-8 p.m.   Condolences may be sent to the family at: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
