Brenda S. Lyon

Age 72, of Canton, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017.  She was born June 4, 1944, in Canton, a daughter of the late John and Marcele (Johnson) Slutz, and was a life resident.  Brenda was a former employee of the J. C. Penny Co. where she was a clerk in the men's dept.  She was a member of the Red Hat Society.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband of 40 years, and good friend, Charles F. "Bud" Lyon, on August 24, 2008, one sister and two brothers, Carolyn Kirk, Jan and Neal Slutz.  She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Brenda K. Lyon, of Canton; two grandsons and two great-granddaughters, Seth and Jessica Lyon, and their daughter, Aria, Nathan Lyon and his fiancée, Taylor Bari and her daughter, Brooklyn; and numerous nieces and nephews.  According to her wishes, there will be no calling hours.  Graveside services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. in Magnolia Cemetery with Rev. Keith Brown officiating.  Because of her love for dogs, contributions in her memory may be made to the Stark County Humane Society, P.O.
