Bonnie J. Pittman
Age 63, of Mineral City, passed away Friday evening in Union Hospital. She was born in Magnolia, a daughter of the late James and Mary Holcomb Johnston, and had been a Mineral City resident most of her life. Bonnie was a 1963 graduate of Tusky Valley High School. She was a former employee of Tusky Valley Local Schools and Steineck's Bakery in Mineral City. Bonnie attended Wooster Highway Church of God and was a member of the Somerdale Ladies Aide, and a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Carr-Bailey American Legion Post #519. Preceded in death by a brother, Fred Johnston. Survived by her husband, George F. Pittman, with whom she celebrated their 44th Wedding Anniversary on April 30th; four daughters and sons-in-law, Renee and Carl Beatty and Rhonda Pittman, all of Mineral City, Rebecca and Richard Wassem, of Dover, and Roberta Pittman and Dale Legg, of Massillon; one son, Raymond Pittman, of Uhrichsville; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Beatrice Van Meter, and Thelma and Joseph Arnold, Jr., all of Mineral City; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Patricia Johnston, of Canton, and Leo and Bonnie Johnston, of Dellroy; eight grandchildren; and her longtime special friend, Cindy Hamilton, of Mineral City. Services will be conducted Wed. at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Brother Kenneth Yoder officiating. Interment in German Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. in lieu of flowers, contributions in Bonnie's memory may be made to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
