Bonnie (Murnane) Mierau
age 59, of Massillon, passed away Monday afternoon in Hospice Care Center in Copley. Free at last from this earth's toil, and home with her Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ. She was born in Chicago, IL, a daughter of the late Joseph W. and Patricia Wey Murnane, and had been a Canton resident most of her life. Bonnie was a 1969 graduate of Glenwood High School and also a graduate of the Timken Mercy School of Certified Lab Assistants. She recently was Baptized in Faith Bible Church. Bonnie had been employed in the Corporate Office of First Merit Bank in the Fulfillment Dept. She previously was employed by Infocision in Akron in the Training Dept. Bonnie also had a long career at Akron General Medical Center in the Lab and in the Burn Unit of Akron Children's Hospital. Along the way she made innumerable lifelong friends. Preceded in death by two sisters, Molly and Mary. Survived by her husband, Thomas R. Mierau, who said "She was my best friend and companion for the past ten years, and I will truly miss her;" two foster daughters, Debbie Philpotts and Chasity Young, both of Lakeland, FL; Bonnie enjoyed her role in the family as the first born and is also survived by four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Peggy Taylor, and Kitty and Craig Wright, all of North Canton, Terri and Brian Gladysz, of Louisville, and Tricia and Robbie Marchesani, of Canton; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Wendy Murnane, of North Canton, Kevin and Jane Murnane and Joseph and Laura Murnane, all of Canton, Dennis and Catherine Murnane, of Louisville, John and Cynthia Murnane, of North Canton, and Matthew and Sandi Murnane, of Decatur, GA; her aunt Peggy Huddleston, of Louisville, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Roberts officiating. Interment in Warstler Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
