BOBBY J. PHELPS,

Age 83, of East Sparta, passed away Tues., Dec. 15, 2015, in his residence.  Born in Raleigh Co., WV, a son of the late Arlous and Myrtle (Watts) Phelps, he had been an East Sparta resident since 1966.  Bobby served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and retired in 1994 from the Timken Co. after over 35 years service, where he was a polisher.  He was an avid sports fan and hunter.  Preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.  Survived by his wife, Renda Phelps, with whom he celebrated their 58th Wedding Anniversary on July 6th; two daughters and one son-in-law, Delana and John Vandervort, and Vonda Phelps; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Corki Phelps, and Gary and Diane Phelps; one son-in-law, Roger Stout; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Betty Stover, and Linda and Glen Crabtree; one brother, Donald Phelps; and seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.  According to his wishes, following cremation there will be a private family service.  The Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia is in charge of arrangements.  Condolences may be left at: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
