Billy Ray Workman

Age 84, of Massillon, passed away Friday, Jan. 28, 2022.  He was born Sept. 23, 1937 in Canton, a son of the late Ray and Fern (Small) Workman, and had been a life resident of this area.  Billy was a 1955 graduate of Timken High School.  He retired in 1989 from the Canton City Police Dept. after 28 ½ years' service.  He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, enjoyed NASCAR, going to NHRA with his son and grandson, and also to local car shows.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary M. Workman, two daughters and one son, Cindy  (Doug) Gaston, Vickie Davis, and Todd (Michelle) Workman, five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, Shannan (Randy) Dickens, and her daughter, Alexis Stewart, Nick Davis, Brandon Davis, Jordyn Workman, and Todd Workman, Jr., and his beloved dog, Cadence.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wed. at 10 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with Fr. Brian Cline as Celebrant.  Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home.  Entombment will be in North Lawn Mausoleum.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
