Beverly A. Douglas
Age 69, of Canton, passed away Thursday morning in Affinity Medical Center in Massillon. She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late Franklin and Mildred (Hicks) Smith, and was a life resident. Beverly was a 1957 graduate of Lehman High School. She had been employed at Schwebel's Bakery for a number of years as a clerk and cashier. Beverly was a member of St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church. Survived by her husband, Gust G. Douglas, with whom she celebrated their 51st Wedding Anniversary on Nov. 2, 2008; two daughters and sons-in-law, Stacie and Ted Whitacre, of North
Canton and Gina and Tom Drescher, of Canton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, George Douglas, of Malvern, and Dan and Shari Douglas, of Canton; nine grandchildren, Danielle Hostler and her husband, Joe, Stephanie, Melissa, and Nicholas Drescher, Alyssa, Samantha, Taryn, Rocky, and Corry Douglas; one brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Erica Smith, of North Carolina. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Dr. Nicholas V. Gamvas officiating. Interment in West Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 2-4 p.m. at the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home and Monday 10-11 a.m. at the church. A Trisagion Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
