BETTY M. McMACKEN, Age 87, of Canton, passed away Tues. evening in her residence. Born in Syracuse, IN, a daughter of the late A. Leroy and Olive Dierdorff Miller, she had been a Canton resident since 1939. Betty retired in 1975 from Falls Metal Specialty Co. in Cuyahoga Falls after over 20 years service, where she was bookkeeper and later manager of the business. She was a member Chapter CX of PEO Sisterhood, and Calvary Presbyterian Church since 1939 where she served as both Deacon and Elder and also was a member of the former Cal-Pre-Chu Sunday school and the Women's Association of the church. Preceded in death by her husband, Ralph McMacken, on Oct. 15, 1987, her daughter, Diane Konowal on June 12, 1997, and two sisters and one brother, Hazel LeClare, Mabel Smith, and Ralph Miller. Survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Jill and Eugene Freshly, Jr., of Moore, SC, and Cathy and Richard Dunlap, of Canton; one sister, Frances Brady, of Brick, NJ; and 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, and two great grandchildren soon to be born. A Memorial Service will be conducted Fri. at 6 p.m. in Calvary Presbyterian Church with Chris Mockridge officiating. Calling hours and a time of fellowship to follow, from 6:30-8:30, in the church hall.
