Betty L. Hill (Mellie) "Betty Lou"

Betty L. Hill 92, of North Canton, Ohio, passed away, Thursday, September 15, 2022.  Betty was born in Grafton, WV, on December 16, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Albert Mellie and Belva Marlow.  She moved to Canton, Ohio at a young age where she lived most of her life.  Betty retired from the A & P Tea Co., where she was a cashier for many years.  She was a member of The First Church of the Nazarene and served as an assistant in the kindergarten department for several years.  Betty was a member of the Sons of Italy and played Bocce for their league.  She enjoyed bowling and cooking.  Her "Sauce and Meatballs" were among her favorites with her family.  Betty loved watching the Browns, Indians and the PGA each Sunday.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Hill in 1982.  Betty is also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister, Frank, Roger and JoAnn.

She is survived by two daughters, Peggy (Wayne) Semple and their children, and three great-grandchildren, Grace, Andrew and Megan, who knew her as "Gigi".  She is also survived by her daughter, Susan (Jim) Craig and their son, Carson.  Betty is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Susan and Peggy would like to express their sincere gratitude to Absolute Hospice, especially Becky, who provided such great care and compassion this past year.  A service will be held at Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home at 1:00 P.
