Betty J. Harmon
Age 88, of Canton, passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning in Aultman Hospital. She was born in Meyers Lake Village, a daughter of the late Harry and Josephine Texter Long, and was a life resident of the Canton area. During her life she had worked at Lawsons, London's Candies and retired from Fogel's Corner in Massillon. Betty served in the Women's Army Corps during World War II. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Harmon, on Nov. 22, 1974, an infant daughter, and two sisters, Marie Gruber and Margaret Petry. Survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Jo Harmon and her close friend, Cheryl Mang, of Laguna Niguel, CA, and Helen "Bird" and David Mulheim, of Richville; one sister, Maxine Kessler, of Missouri; two grandchildren, Justin (Meredith) Mulheim, and Jarrod Mulheim and his fiancee, Stacy Rich; and a soon to be born great-grandchild. Services will be held on Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Bordenkircher officiating. Friends may call Tuesday 2-3 p.m. before the service.
