Betty M. Broadwater Age 87, of Waynesburg, passed away Sat. morning, March 5, 2011, in the Canton Regency. She was born in East Sparta, a daughter of the late Franklin H. and Hazel May Creighton McKinney, and had been a Waynesburg resident since 1940. Betty was a 1942 graduate of Waynesburg High School. She was a former employee of Ohio Power Co. in Waynesburg, and retired in 1996 as Clerk of Sandy Township, after 15 years service. Betty was a member of Indian Run Christian Church and the Dorcas Circle of the church, Magnolia Grange, the Farm Bureau, and the Stark County Trustees and Clerks Association. Preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Harold W. Broadwater, on April 26, 2006, brother, Merle McKinney, sister, Opal Reichard, and nephew, William Reichard. Survived by her nephew, Gary (Cathy) McKinney, of Waynesburg, and four nieces, Marianne (Shayne) Donald, of Akron, Rebecca Parsons, of Dublin, OH, Barbara (James) Repace, and Lisa (Bradley) Arnold, all of North Canton; also great nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in Indian Run Christian Church with Minister Terry Bailey officiating. Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery. Friends may call Wed. 5-8 p.m. at Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia, and Thursday 10-11 a.m. at the church.
