Betty A. Baum
Age 70, of Magnolia, passed away Friday afternoon in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late Eugene and Adella Kashuba Mapes, and had been a Magnolia resident since 1960. Betty was a 1957 graduate of Lincoln High School. She was a former employee of Mimi's Restaurant and also had worked at the U. S. Ceramic Tile Co., Waynesburg IGA, and Zoar Market. She was a member of Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Church, the Sandy Valley Eagles, and a Card Club with her friends from Magnolia and East Sparta for many years. Preceded in death by twin granddaughters, Christen and Cara Baum. Survived by her husband, Clifford B. Baum, with whom she celebrated their 49th Wedding Anniversary on June 4, 2009; one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Joseph Baumgardner, of Magnolia; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Douglas Baum, of Pike Township, and Daniel and Robin Baum, of Magnolia; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Rose Mapes, of Canton; and three grandchildren, Daniel, Jr. and Dustin Baum, and Erica Beans. Services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Peggy Garner officiating. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Sandyville. Friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Betty's memory may be made to Carroll County Hospice.
