Bettie L. Rairigh age 84, of Canton, passed away Monday evening in Hennis Care Centre in Bolivar. She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late John and Clara Nelson Cowie, Sr., and was a life resident. Bettie was a 1944 graduate of Timken High School and retired in 2005 from The Belden Brick Co., after 59 years service, where she was an Executive Secretary. She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church and Codi Chapter of Executive Secretaries. Bettie was a passionate supporter of the Canton Ballet, which she had served as a Board Member. Preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Robert R. Rairigh, on Aug. 3, 1990, and a brother, John Cowie, Jr., in 2001. Survived by her niece, Tracey Barcus, of New Philadelphia, and two great-nephews, T.J. and Taylor Barcus; her cousin, Glenna Jean Zetts, of North Canton, and her children who were very close to Bettie; and many dear friends that traveled together. Services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Snyder officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Wed.
