Betheen Grubaugh
Age 92, a resident of the Canton Christian Home, passed away there Tuesday morning. She was born in Van Wert, OH, a daughter of the late William and Ada (McClelland) Grubaugh, and had been a Canton resident since 1976. She received her Nursing Degree from Deaconess Hospital in Cincinnati and was a graduate of Cincinnati Bible College while practicing nursing. She then served in the mission field in Bari, Italy for 12 years. Betheen retired in 1991 from the Canton Christian Home, after 13 year's service, where she was Director of Nursing. Following retirement, she taught nurses' aides through the Alliance Training Center, at various nursing homes from 1991-1998. Preceded in death by three brothers, Boyd, Beryl, and Glover Grubaugh. Survived by her sister, Nedra Altier, of Girard, OH; her brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Louellen Grubaugh, of Davis, CA; and two sisters-in-law, JoAnn Grubaugh and Isabelle Grubaugh. Graveside services will be held Thursday (today) at 1 p.m. in Taylor Cemetery, in Union Township near Van Wert, OH, with Chaplain Ron Iwanusa officiating. There will be no calling hours. The Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
