Bertha C. Grell

Age 94, of Magnolia, passed away Sat., March 30, 2024.  She was born July 25, 1929 in East Sparta, a daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Black) Truax, and was a life resident of this area.  Bertha was a 1947 graduate of East Sparta High School.  She had been a Dental Assistant for Dr. Lester Tate in Canton for a number of years, and then for his son, Dr. James Tate.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Charles W. Grell, on Jan. 15, 2015, and a sister, Doris Shuman.  Bertha is survived by her daughter and son, Kay and Tim Belden and Kevin and Peggy Grell, and a granddaughter, Nicole Belden.

Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Peggy Garner officiating.  Friends may call Thursday 11 a.m.-1 p.m. before the service.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Sandyville.  To honor Bertha, because she loved to read books from the Stark Library, contributions may be made to the Stark Library, Main Branch, 715 Market Ave. North, Canton, OH 44702.
