Bernard C. Furbee

Age 85, of Massillon, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024.  He was born May 15, 1938 in Canton, a son of the late Wilbert and Virginia (Burleson) Furbee, and had been a Massillon resident since 2007.  Bernard was a 1956 graduate of Canton Lincoln High School, and retired in 1986 from The Timken Co., after 30 years' service, where he was a machine repairman.  He was a member of Anchor Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Navy Reserves.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Jean (Shaeffer) Furbee, on Dec. 16, 2017.  Bernard is survived by a daughter, Mellonie (Neil) Casto, a son, Shawn Gasper, two granddaughters, Brenna Swiney and Marron Casto, and a brother, Dennis Furbee.

Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Keith Kull, Minister, officiating.  Friends may call Wednesday one hour before the service from 10-11 a.m..  Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
