Benjamin F. Owens
Age 92, of Waynesburg, passed away Thursday Oct. 18, 2018. He was born July 31, 1926 in Mingo Junction, OH, a son of the late Henry and Margaret (Cox) Owens, and had been a Waynesburg resident most of his life. Ben retired in 1991 from Whitacre-Greer Fireproofing Co. where he was a truck driver and hauled the clay to make the bricks. He was a member of First Christian Church of Malvern, Sandy Valley American Legion Post #432, and the Hall of Fame Luncheon Club. Ben honorably served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Geneva R. Owens, on June 11, 2018. He is survived by a daughter and son, Cindy (Jon) Unkefer and Alan (Tammy) Owens; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, Tiffany (Shawn) Danko and their children, Vincent and Makenzie, Eric (Leslie) Owens and their children Jack and Tabitha, Shaun (Holly) Unkefer and their sons, Aiden, Maddox, and Kasen, and Hunter (Courtney) Unkefer. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in First Christian Church of Malvern with Pastor Kenny Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Sandy Valley Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Friends may call Monday 10-11 a.m. at the church before the service.
