Barbara J. Sponaugle

Age 85, of Mineral City, passed away Tues., August 13, 2024.  She was born February 12, 1939, in Canton, a daughter of the late Clyde and Georgia A. (McClellan) McCully and had been a resident of Mineral City since 1979.  Barb was a 1957 graduate of Timken Vocational High School. She was a secretary at Ohio Power, as well as Mineral City Elementary School.

In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Harold L. Sponaugle on March 18, 2013.  She is survived by her son, Scott Austin, two stepdaughters, Rebecca (Darrell) Weisen, and Rhonda (Eric) Hilty, three stepsons, Richard (Dianna) Sponaugle, Robert (Linda) Sponaugle, and John (Valerie) Sponaugle, and lifelong best friend, Wanda Marshall.

Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at German Cemetery in Mineral City with Rev. Mark Gross officiating.  There will be no visitation.
