Barbara E. Pontones

Age 87, of Waynesburg, passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2017.  She was born in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Roger and Marie (McCamant) Dieringer, and was a life resident.  Barbara was a 1947 graduate of Waynesburg High School, and was retired from TRW in Minerva, after 20 years' service, where she was an inspector.  She was a member of Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Gary and Tim Pontones, and a brother, Donald Dieringer.  She is survived by her husband, Arthur F. Pontones, with whom she celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary on Oct. 13th; her daughter, Patty Pontones,  her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Kathy Pontones, and daughter-in-law, Chris Pontones, all of, Waynesburg; five grandchildren, Amber (Bill) Weaver, Gary (Casey) Pontones, Donny (Angela) Pontones, Kara (Nick) Pontius, and Kelly Pontones;  three sisters, Helen Helaney and Edna Navarra, both of Waynesburg, and Iva Campana, of Massillon; and one brother, Roger Dieringer, of Wooster.  Services will be held Wed. at 11 a.m. in Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Church with Pastor Miguel A. Acosta officiating.  Interment will be in Sandy Valley Cemetery.  Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia and Wed. 10-11 a.m. at the church before the service.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
