Obituary

BARBARA W. LUKENS, Age 90, of Sandyville, passed away Thur. afternoon in St. Joseph's Care Center. Born in Cleveland, a daughter of the late William and Robina MacLeod Walker, she had been a resident of North Canton for 25 years and Sandyville for 20 years, returning to North Canton in 2004. Barbara graduated from City Hospital School of Nursing in Cleveland and was a Registered Nurse, having worked at Timken Mercy Medical Center, St. Luke's Home, the Windsor, and Molly Stark Hospital. She was a member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. Barbara had a kind heart and loved to help others, cook for large crowds, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Robert H. Lukens, on Jan 16th, 2004; her son, Robert A. Lukens, in 1999; and her daughter-in-law, Kathi Lukens, in 2004. Survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and James Wilson, of North Canton, Judy and Albert Smith, of Canton, and Susan and Brian Lux, of Sandyville; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Marilyn Lukens, of Uniontown; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, Andrea and David Manderine and their sons, Dominic and Anthony, Matthew and Betsey Lukens and their sons, Carter and Jacob, Nicholas and Claire Lukens and their son, Fisher, Elizabeth and Michael Conrad and their children, Rosanna, Paloma, and Zamira, Rebecca Lukens, Benjamin and Denisse Lukens, Daniel Lukens, Brian and Alexis Lux, Sarah and Dwayne Rohrer and their daughters, Karmina and soon to be born Temperance, Andrew Smith, Bonnie and Adam Wiggins, Jesse and Laura Wilson and their children, Jonathon, Michaela, Benjamin, and Gabrielle, Nathan Wilson and his fiancee, Rachel Brothers, Bethany Wilson and her son, Max, and Lauren Audrey Wilson. Services will be conducted Mon at 11 a.m. in the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church with Pastor John Maroni officiating. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Sun. from 2-4 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia and one hour before the service, from 10-11 a.m. in the church.
