BARBARA E. BUTLER,
Age 76, of Canton, passed away Mon. evening in Aultman Hospital. Born in Canton, a daughter of the late Herbert and Vera Pyett Homan, she was raised in Zoarville and had been a Canton resident for 44 years. Barbara was a 1951 graduate of Dover High School and retired in 1990 from Ekco Products after 23 years service where she was a press operator. Following her retirement she worked at Speedway. She was a member of St. Paul's Community Church in Mineral City. Barbara was a life member of the Dutch Club, the Belgian Hare Club, the American Cavy Breeders Association, and the Stark County Rabbit and Cavy Breeders. She had been a 4-H Advisor for 20 years and a Judge for the American Rabbit Breeders Association for 28 years. Survived by her husband, Alvin Butler, with whom she would have celebrated their 56th Wedding Anniversary on Apr. 18th; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Ray Knight, of Canton, and Cheryl and David Hintz, of Navarre; one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Janet Butler, of New Philadelphia; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Shirley Homan, of New Philadelphia, and Jim and Margie Homan, of Dalton, OH; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Ralph Moore, of Zoarville, Margie and Herb Neitig, of Sherrodsville, and Clara and Chuck Garrett, of New Philadelphia; and nine grand children and seven great grandchildren. Services will be conducted Sat. at 2 p.m. in St. Paul's Community Church in Mineral City with Pastor Mark Gross officiating. Interment in Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman following cremation. Friends may call Fri. from 6-8 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home in Canton.
