Ardell L. Jones

Age 84, of East Sparta, passed away Wed. afternoon in Mercy Medical Center.  He was born in Dover, a son of the late Eugene and Bernadine (Lab) Jones, was raised in Mineral City and resided in East Sparta since 1965.  Ardell was a 1947 graduate of Mineral City High School.  He retired in 1991 from LTV (Republic Steel) after 25 years service, where he was a grinder operator and worked in the Electrical Dept.  Ardell was a member of the Stark Gun Collectors and he was an avid hunter and trapper.  He served in the U. S Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  Survived by his wife, Sally A. Jones, with whom he celebrated their 48th Wedding Anniversary on April 2, 2013;  two daughters and a-son-in-law, Linda and Frank Harig, of Mineral City, and Marion Rupert, of Sandyville; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Jack and Stephanie Jones, of East Sparta, Morgan Jones, of New Philadelphia, Patrick Kelly, of North Canton, and Merle and Jenny Jones, of Boznia; one brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Helen Jones, of Winfield, OH; 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.  There are no calling hours or services.  Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Sandyville on Sat. with Military Honors.  The Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia is in charge of arrangements.  Condolences may be sent to" www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
