Anna M. DiDente

Anne M. DiDente, loving daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away at the age of 102, on November 18, 2023, after a short illness.

Most important to Anne throughout her long life was her family.  She also loved writing, reading, homemaking and playing games. She was deeply interested in food, nutrition and well-being. Anne was eager to learn new things, go new places and try new foods.  She used her computer, checking emails and seeking information, until shortly before her passing.  Over the years, Anne published a number of articles and memoirs in a variety of magazines and newspapers, the most recent in 2022 in "Good Old Days" magazine.

Anne graduated from Waynesburg High School in 1939 and attended Kent State University. She did office work at the B & O Railroad and Canton Hardware, but probably her favorite job was writing copy at Crowl Advertising in North Canton. She did volunteer work at St. James Church and the Trailing Arbutus Senior Program, both in Waynesburg.  Anne lived in Waynesburg all her life until 2019, when she moved to Pennsylvania.

Anne was married to the late Louis DiDente for 51 years. She is survived by her son, Stanley DiDente (Kyo) of Akron, OH; daughter, Barbara Marchese (Joe) of West Chester, PA; granddaughter, Katherine Marchese and great-granddaughter, Lluvia Acevedo of Voorhees, NJ; and her sister, Dorothy Recchio.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 30, at 11:00 a.m. in Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Fr. Matthew Humrickhouse officiating. Interment will be in Sandy Valley Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
