Amos H. "Sonny" Alexander, III

Age 82, of Magnolia, peacefully passed on Monday, May 19, 2025. He was born on October 10, 1942, in Canton, Ohio, a son to the late Amos and Martha Alexander. Together with his late wife, Margaret "Margie" (Downes) Alexander, he leaves behind a loving legacy through their six children.

Amos lived a full life. He was a man known for his quiet strength, his love for football and his dedication to work and maintaining his beloved 7-acre farm. As a young adult he was well-known as the grill cook at the popular Hamburg Inn and honorably served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army. He spent many years volunteering his time to the Sandy Valley Little Cardinal and Jr. High Football programs, and retired from Danner Press after 38 years as the facilities Head Carpenter.

In addition to his parents and devoted wife, Amos was preceded in death by his two brothers, Roger and Steve Alexander. He is survived by three sons and three daughters, Amos "Chip" (Danette) Alexander IV, Michael (Rhonda) Alexander, and Christopher Alexander (Jessica Gladwell); Amy Alexander, Robin (Justin) Woods, and Lisa (Jeremy) Koepke; one brother, Denny (Diane) Alexander; two sisters, Nancy Clark (Bill Lenhart), and Susan (Kirk) Hewitt; and his eight grandchildren, Parker, Hudson, Marvin, Tristan, Lillian, DJ, Jack, Kate and his beloved cat, Hilary.

A Memorial Service will be held Fri., May 30, 2025, at 11am, in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia, Condolences may be left at www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
