OBITUARY FOR FRIDAY REPOSITORY: Alwilda E. Warner Age 87, of Waynesburg, passed away Thursday morning, August 4, 2011, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Park and Mary Elizabeth Elson Welker, and was a life resident. Alwilda was a 1942 graduate of Waynesburg High School. She was a member of the Fellowship of the Little Country Church where she was very active and played the piano and organ for over 60 years. Preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Delbert E. "Junie" Warner, Jr., on June 11, 2001. Survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Conna and Gary McCarthy, of Braselton, GA, Colleen and Randy Motts, of Waynesburg, and Cynthia and David Darsch, of Anna Maria, FL; one son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Diane Warner, of Snellville, GA; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Nathan and Caron McCarthy and their children, Alli Beth and Warner, Noah McCarthy, Zach and Esther Motts and their daughter, Zoe, Danielle and Brian King and their son, Jaxson, Sophia and Brian Johnson, Alex and Sean Warner; one sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Howard Diehl, and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Mary Welker, and Shubal and Mary Jane Welker, all of Waynesburg. Services will be held on Sat. at 11 a.m. in the Little Country Church with Rev. William Carter and her nephew, Rev. Melvin Truex, officiating. Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Sat. from 10:30-11 a.m. before the service. The Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia is in charge of arrangements.
