Albert W. Mather Age 93, of Canton, passed away Wed. evening in the Canton Regency. He was born in Altoona, PA, a son of the late Harvey and Ruth (Olewine) Mather, and had been a Canton resident since 1954. Albert retired March 1, 1981 from Ford Motor Co., after 26 years' service, where he was a supervisor in the Tool & Die Department. He had been a member of the former Christ United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men of the church, Canton Lodge #60, F. & A.M., the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Canton, Tadmor Temple, Ford Hourly Retirees, Ford Salary Retirees, Plain Township Lions Club, which he served as President and Treasurer, and the Edgefield AARP. Albert served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Eva Mae Mather, on Jan. 13, 2012, one brother and two sisters, Harvey Mather, Doris Mayer, and Ellen Miller. Survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and David Waltz, of East Canton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Amy Mather, of Bloomington, IN, and Thad and Sylvia Mather, of Uniontown; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Nancy L. Conley officiating. Interment in Warstler Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 2-3 p.m. before the service. Masonic Services will be held at 2:45 p.m. Sunday.
