Abner A. Sipe
Age 88, of North Canton, passed away Thursday evening in Aultman Hospital. He was born in Canton, a son of the late Andrew and Hazel Blackburn Sipe, and was a life resident of this area. Abner retired Feb. 17, 1984 from Bonsky Sheet Metal, after 26 years service, where he was a foreman. He was a member of I.O.O.F. Lodge #1093, the Stark County Power Squadron, and a former member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in the Marietta Flotilla. Abner served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Survived by his wife, Zora G. Sipe, with whom he celebrated their 68th Wedding Anniversary on Aug. 20th; three daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Gary Barnes, of Sand Lake, MI, Peggy and Joe Ramsey, of Canton, and Diana and Ben Klick, of Utica, OH; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald and Freda Sipe, of North Canton, Raymond Sipe, of Akron, and Andrew Sipe, of North Canton; one sister, Kathleen Plummer, of Colton, CA; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffrey L. Shultz officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens with Full Military Honors by Canton American Legion Post #44. Friends may call Monday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
