Zedena “Deanie” Davies

Age 100, passed away Wed., June 28, 2017, one day before her 101st birthday.  She was born June 29, 1916, in New Philadelphia, OH, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Griffin) Corpman, and had been an East Sparta resident most of her life.  Deanie was a 1935 graduate of New Philadelphia High School.  She was a member of East Sparta Christian Church, where she sang in the choir.  Deanie enjoyed baking and had volunteered at Aultman Hospital for 25 years after her husband died.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Walter Davies, on Sept. 22, 1984.  She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara and Kathryn and Denny; one son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Nancy Davies; five grandsons and seven great-grandchildren, Eric (Dawn) Slack, Ryan (Stephanie) Slack, and their children, Jenna, Dana, and Ryley, Levi (Patricia) Davies, and their son, Augustus, Paul and Katie and their children, Jameson and Marina, Nathan (Jessica) Davies, and their son, Nathan, Jr.; a sister-in-law, Rose Snyder; and a brother, John Corpman.  Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in East Sparta Christian Church with William Moody officiating.  Interment in East Sparta Cemetery.  Friends may call Sunday at the church one hour before the service from 1-2 p.m.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
