 Richard W. Slagle

Age 62, of Waynesburg, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017, in his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Alliance, a son of the late Dick and Betty (Foutts) Slagle, and had been a Waynesburg resident 33 years.  Rick was a 1973 graduate of Sebring McKinley High School.  He was retired from Pittsburgh Tubular Products, formerly Babcock & Wilcox Tube, where he was a crane operator.  Rick was a member of Sebring Lodge #626, F. & A. M.  Rick was a devoted Buckeye, skilled military modeler, and avid history buff.  He was a great friend, loving husband and father, and never met a peanut butter pie, hot fudge Sunday, or seafood buffet that he didn’t like.    Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jason Slagle, on Oct. 31, 1988.  Rick is survived by his wife, Barbara Slagle, with whom he celebrated their 33rd Wedding Anniversary on June 23rd, his son, Aaron Slagle, a brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Nancy Slagle, and brothers-in-law, Jack (Sheryl) Baudendistel, and Dallas Plessinger.   Services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Dale Boston officiating.  Interment will be in Sandy Valley Cemetery.  Friends may call 10-11:30 a.m. before the service.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rick’s memory may be made to either Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave., New Philadelphia, OH  44663, or Fisher House Foundation, 111 Rockville Pike #420, Rockville, MD 20850.
