Michael J. Everhart
Age 67, of East Sparta, passed away Monday June 4, 2018. He was born August 16, 1950 in Canton, a son of Margaret (Wilson) Everhart of Canal Fulton and the late Donald Everhart, was raised in Canal Fulton and had been an East Sparta resident since 1997. Mike was a 1969 graduate of Northwest High School. He was retired from The Hoover Co. after 38 years service. Mike attended Jackson Friends Church. He loved being with his family, enjoyed old cars, and spending Sunday afternoons at Magnolia Drag Strip. Mike proudly served in the U. S. Army during the Viet Nam War, and was a member of the funeral detail at Ft. Knox after his return. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, JoAnn Everhart, with whom he would have celebrated their 21st Wedding Anniversary on June 7th; a step-daughter and step-son, Emily (Kyle) Unangst and Adam (Misty) Braden; he loved being Poppy to his grandchildren, Eli, Everett, and Eden Unangst; also his sister and brother, Jane (Kenny) Hartong, and Thomas (Luanne) Everhart. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Dan Hanny officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Sandyville with Military Honors.
