Mardell “Marti” Lahmers

Age 87, of East Sparta, passed away Tuesday Dec. 4, 2018.  She was born June 7, 1931 in Stonecreek, OH a daughter of the late Robert and Kathryn (Miller) Lehman, and had been an East Sparta resident 63 years.  She had worked at the former Suburban Restaurant as a cook years ago, but she mostly enjoyed doing crafts and going to craft shows for many years.  Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ralph C. Lahmers, on June 13, 2012, two sisters and two brothers, Marie Morckel, Peggy Lou Swartzentruber, Robert and Ted Lehman.  Mardell is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Linda Lahmers; a grandson, Robert and Jessika Lahmers, Jr., and their children, Robert Lahmers III, Thomas and Madalyne Lahmers; two step-grandsons and three step-great-grandsons, Michael (Tonia) Lewis and their children, Jessica and Adam, Nick Lewis and his daughter, Jennifer; two sisters, Audrey Green (Solomon Eicher) and Bessie (Wayne) Bissell, and two brothers, Roger (Janice) Lehman and Chester (Kathy) Lehman.  A graveside service will be held Friday at 12:30 p.m. in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover with Pastor Dave Naus officiating.  Friends may call Friday from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon at the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mardell’s memory may be made to East Sparta United Methodist Church, PO Box 445, East Sparta OH, 44626.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
