H. Michael Crowl
Age 80, of Canton, passed away Thursday December 13, 2018. He was born October 3, 1938 in Canton, a son of the late C.M. “Dan” and Beatrice “Beatie” (Hufler) Crowl, and was a life resident. Mike was a 1956 graduate of Lehman High School and a 1961 graduate of Mount Union College with B.S. Degree in History, and where he was a member of SAE Fraternity. He started his banking career at Harter Bank & Trust Co. in 1966, and worked there until it became Society Bank in 1992. He then went to First Merit in Akron from 1992-98. He then helped form Ohio Legacy Bank (now Home Savings) in Canton, retiring in 2011. Mike was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church and Canton American Legion Post #44. He served in the Air National Guard from 1962-68. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Curtis. Mike is survived by his wife, Anne S. (Shilts) Crowl, with whom he celebrated their 57th Wedding Anniversary on June 17th; two daughters, Catherine Crowl and Kimberly Crowl; one sister Jayne (William) Djubek. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. in Christ Presbyterian Church with Rev. Elden Trubee officiating. Friends may call Tuesday 3-4 p.m. at the church before the service. Following cremation his ashes will be scattered in the Wilderness Center. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mike’s memory may be made to the Salvation Army, 420 Market Ave. S., Canton, OH 44702, Christ Presbyterian Church, 530 W.
