Faye O. Loomis
Age 86, of Magnolia, passed away Sunday December 23, 2018. She was born Feb. 19, 1932 in Canton, a daughter of the late Cecil and Emily (Knotts) James, and was a life resident of Magnolia. Faye was a 1950 graduate of Magnolia High School and attended Kent State University for two years. She had worked at Ohio Power Co., Sandy Valley Local Schools, and also had been a secretary for her husband at Magnolia Mining Co. Faye was a member of Magnolia United Methodist Church, the Magnolia Historical Society, Sandy Valley Junior Women’s Club, Magnolia Card Club, and the East Sparta Bowling league. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Frederick C. “Fritz” Loomis, on Dec. 6, 2008, a sister, Kaye James Fox, on July 24, 2000, and a daughter-in-law, Stephanie Loomis, on May 11, 2009. Faye is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Oscar deLeon, three sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Wendy Loomis, Mike and Robin Loomis, and Jeff Loomis and Mary Ray; eight grandchildren, Steve (Lisa) Loomis, Travis (Tina) Loomis, Clay (Justine Nussbaum) Loomis, Nick (Nikki) McClelland, Sara (Shaun) Davis, Lexi deLeon, Kaley deLeon, Michael (Danielle) Thomas, and Tiffany (Jimmy) Baron; and 19 great-grandchildren. Services will be held Sat. at 11 a.m. in Magnolia United Methodist Church with Pastor Carl Orphanides officiating. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. at the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia and Sat. 10-11 a.m. at the church before the service. The family wishes to thank Dr. Eyad Nashawati for his assistance in her quality of life, and The Lodge at New Dawn and Crossroads Hospice for the wonderful care they gave Faye during her stay there.
