David L. Artzner

Age 78, of Waynesburg, passed away Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017.  He was born Sept. 20, 1939 in Canton, a son of the late Ralph and Betty (Skelton) Artzner, and had been a life resident of the Magnolia/Waynesburg area.  Dave was a 1957 graduate of Sandy Valley High School.  He retired in 1999 from The Timken Co., after 35 years service, where he was a millwright, and was known as “Dusty Dave”.  He also worked part-time at Wendell Ford for a number of years, and enjoyed helping at the Magnolia Drag Strip for many years.  Dave was a member of St. James Catholic Church and the former American-Italian Club.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Jacqueline “Jackie” Artzner, on Dec. 18, 2007, and a brother, Steve Artzner, on March 10, 2014.  Dave is survived by four daughters and one son, Thais Albaugh and her children, Janel and Dylan, Mimi (Gary) Fawver, and their children, Gara and Nicklaus, Alicia (Steve) Porter, and her daughter, Avery, Selena (Brian) Hall and their sons, Owen and Carter, and Dirk Artzner; two sisters, Claire (Charles) Knott, and Molly (Fred) Denton, two brothers, Denis Artzner, and Kerry (Sherry) Artzner, and sister-in-law, Sue Zanne Artzner; numerous nieces and nephews, and a great-niece and great-nephew. The family would like to extend a special thanks to his two favorite nurses, Antoniette and Theresa and the staff at Oak Hill Manor and Crossroads Hospice for the special care and concern they showed for David.  A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Zamary and Fr.
