William Shisler

WILLIAM HOWARD SHISLER,

Age 86, of North Canton, passed away peacefully at the Aultman Compassionate Care Center on Feb. 7, 2017.  Born in Canton, a son of the late Howard and Ruth (Zerbe) Shisler, he graduated from McKinley High School in 1948.  William served in the U.S. Army for three years, two in Alaska.  Upon discharge he attended Mount Union College and then the University of Toledo to pursue the profession of Pharmacy.  William graduated with his degree in 1955 and went on to work at Eli Lilly Co.  He elected to work in retail pharmacy in Toledo, then in Canton, retiring after 67 years following a rewarding career.  William was a member of the Stark Co. and Ohio Pharmaceutical Associations, and Trinity United Church of Christ.  His family was most important in his life.  Preceded in death by his brother, John R. Shisler.  Survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce Shisler, two sons, David and Richard, his daughter, Linda, and four very well loved and talented grandchildren, Will, Christina, Rebecca and Britt.  A Memorial Service will be held Sat. at 12 Noon in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev.
