Stanley R. Winters

Age 63, of Magnolia, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017.  He was born March 1, 1954, in Canton, a son of Ray Winters, of East Sparta and the late Ann (Holva) Winters, and was a life resident of the Sandy Valley area.  Stan was a 1972 graduate of Sandy Valley High School.  He retired in 2010 from Laborers Local #1015, and had worked for Beaver Construction for 25 years.  He was a member of Sandy Valley Eagles #3228, and he had played in the Magnolia Golf League.  Stan had been the time keeper for Sandy Valley Football for almost 30 years, as his father had done before him, and his son will do now.  Besides his father, he is survived by his wife, Wendy J. (Nicholson) Winters, with whom he would have celebrated their 43rd Wedding Anniversary on Nov. 30th; one daughter, Amy Winters, and one son and daughter-in-law, Ike and Charity Winters, and their daughters, Alison and Gracyn;   two brothers, Steve Winters, and Denny (Mercy) Winters; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Fred.  Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral home in Magnolia with Pastor Carl H. Orphanides officiating.  Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery following cremation.  Friends may call Friday 12-2 p.m. before the service.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Stan’s memory may be made to Here Doggy Doggy Rescue, 2390 Westbrook St. SE, Magnolia, OH 44643.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
