Rosaline “Rosie” Deremer
Age 87, of Canton, passed away Monday, Jan. 8, 2018. She was born Jan. 3, 1931, in Clarksburg, WV, a daughter of the late Glen and Beulah (Mitchell) Fidler, and had been a Canton resident since 1956. Rosie was a 1948 graduate of East Fairmont High School and a 1953 graduate of Fairmont State College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. She taught for a couple years in Virginia before coming to Canton. Rosie taught 26 years in the Canton Local School District at Waco, North Industry and Prairie College Elementary Schools. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Maurice “Red” Deremer, on Dec. 31, 2006, and sons, Scott and Tim Deremer. She is survived by her daughter and son, Diana (Ronald) Braucher, and Ted (Rhonda) Deremer; six grandchildren and one great-grandson, Cori (Eric) Sammon, and their son, Memphis Scott, Abbey Deremer, Samantha Deremer, Marshall Braucher, Hailey Braucher, and Merri Braucher; also a sister-in-law, Dorothy Deremer. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Edwards officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
