Nellie V. Englehaupt
Age 91, of Canton, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017. She was born April 17, 1925 in Mellott Ridge, Monroe County, OH, a daughter of the late Arthur and Beryl (Miller) Pittman, and had been a resident of the Canton area since 1965. Nellie was a graduate of Beallsville High School. During World War II she worked at Lamson Sessions Co. in Kent, where she was a press operator. Following the war she became a beautician, and from 1965-88 she was the owner-manager of Shady Trailer Park in Perry Township. Nellie was an incredibly resourceful woman with a fantastic work ethic. She had helped her husband build their home in Willoughby and at the trailer park had helped pour and finish concrete slabs. She was a fantastic gardener and enjoyed quilting and needlepoint. Nellie was an incredibly supportive person and accomplished all these things while raising six children with unconditional love. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Englehaupt, a daughter and son, Kim Englehaupt and Eric Englehaupt, a grandson, Danny Englehaupt, two sisters, Hazel Pittman and Dortha Baker, one brother, Elmer Pittman, and three infant siblings, Helen, Roy, and Lawrence Pittman. She is survived by two daughters, Veronica (Randy) Cain, of Navarre, and Pam Petrus, of Hartville; two sons, Kirk Englehaupt, of Medina and Hans Englehaupt, of Canton; nine grandchildren, Michelle (Mike) Cain-Ramey, Richard (Teri) Cain, Alexandria Petrus, Jason (Lianna) Englehaupt, Joseph (Kyan) Englehaupt, Jeremy Englehaupt, Alicia Englehaupt, Michel (Shannon) Englehaupt, and Crystal (Greg) Meister; numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Eva Decker, of Rootstown, Grace (Wayne) Baker, of Albuquerque, NM, and Betty (David) Mangione, of Newark, OH; one brother, Ruel (Carol) Pittman, of Johnstown, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Fr. Tom Bishop officiating. Interment will be in Sandy Valley Cemetery.
