Jennifer and family, I just saw a posting for your dear, talented and giving mom. She was quite a role model for those of us who grew up in interesting Canton times. Blessings, prayers and peace for you all.

She was a feminist before there was feminism. No matter where I ran into her she would give me a hug. Jennifer was one of my best friends in elementary school and I was always welcome at their house RIP

Hi Judge Smart,
Sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. I enjoyed working with her at the nursing home. She was challenging at times, yet pleasure to work with.
May her soul rest in peace.
Regards,
Meena.

Oh the memories. I believe I was her Conflicts instructor at McK Law School many years ago. But then her effective political and then judicial successes. We heard so many cases together on the Court of Appeals and she was always a courteous and gracious companion.
We have missed her bright presence at Christ Church and will remember she (and Charley) fondly. Blessings to her children whom she adored. Jack and Phyllis.

I had the honor of working with her at the Canton Muni Court. She was a leader for women in a day it wasn't so popular. She issued sentences that were far ahead of her time trying to get people to work fostering not repeating thier crimes. She was a true Lady, hard worker and one of the best campaigners I have known. God bless, we could use more Judge Smarts today.
