Francis Archie Shuman
Age 96, of Mineral City, passed away Sunday Feb. 11, 2018. He was born Dec. 19, 1921 in Loydsville, OH, a son of the late Francis and Jessie (Calhoun) Shuman, and had been a Mineral City resident most of his life. Archie was retired from the U. S. Ceramic Tile Co. in East Sparta, after 42 years service, where he had been an electrician and press operator. He and his wife were charter members of the Christian Chapel in Zoarville. Archie served in the U. S. Army during WW II and received a Purple Heart. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Clermont (Brannon) Shuman, on Nov. 9, 2002, a daughter, Nancy Davis, on Jan. 27, 2011, son-in-law, David Gray, five brothers and three sisters, Clifford, Floyd, Lomas, Vernard, and Seaward Shuman, Wilma Mezzolini, Meda May, and Daisy Phillips. Archie is survived by his daughter, Diana Gray, six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Services will be held Sat. at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev.
